Area is weighted by the number of known samples.
Compare distributions across groups. Silhouette width represents an estimated probability density, not individual observations. Median, quartiles, range and mean are explicitly derived. Keep the raw sample table available when interpreting the estimate.
groups contains stable group id, label and original samples with stable id and value:number|null. Signed values and zeros are preserved; null is unknown. Maximum 16 groups and 4096 total samples. An unknown-only group has no median or curve. Constant samples use a zero-spread line unless an explicit positive bandwidth requests smoothing.
layout.bandwidth sets a positive kernel bandwidth in source units. Omit it for robust automatic estimation. resolution 32–128 bounds curve work. normalization width equalizes peak widths; area equalizes probability area; count weights area by known sample count. gapRatio 0–0.8 controls spacing. Legends hide groups without changing remaining scales or normalization. No numeric viewport, reference lines, stacking or shared tooltip.
