Vector field
Inspect positions, vector components and magnitudes.
Use vectors for a directional field. X/Y locate an observation; dx/dy describe its components in the same vector unit. Components use the chart’s Cartesian orientation, with axis reversal respected. Arrow angles remain independent of differing axis spans; they are not projected displacement endpoints.
Supply numeric axes and up to 16 series with stable point IDs, x, y, dx and dy. The total limit is 2,048 points. Null coordinates or paired null components omit a glyph; a zero vector remains selectable as a small ring. Optional data.unit describes the vector components, not the position axes.
One magnitude scale across visible series sets arrow length. Point detail shows original X/Y, components and derived magnitude. Numeric zoom/pan, reference lines, series colours, axis titles, labels and interactive legends are available. No shared tooltip, point-colour overrides, stacking or interpolated flow animation.
