Tilemap · Diamond cells
The shape changes while original IDs, coordinates and values remain intact.
Use it for a deliberately arranged comparison grid where position is a source category, not geography. Choose hexagons, circles, diamonds or squares. Color encodes the measurement; cell area does not.
Supply exactly one named series with stable point IDs, integer X/Y coordinates from −1,000,000 to 1,000,000 and value:number|null. Up to 2,048 cells are supported. Coordinates must be unique. Zero is known, null is unknown, and negative measurements are valid. Names preserve up to 512 characters. Source rows retain hidden and unpainted values.
options.layout chooses tileShape and pointPadding (0–32 logical units). options.appearance.opacity ranges from 0 to 1. options.colorAxis.visible controls only the scale legend; scale selects continuous stops/domain or declared classes. Colors come from the Core, including missing and unclassified values. Data axes, numeric grid, zoom/pinch, stacking, per-point/series paint, markers, inline labels and shared tooltips are rejected. Paths are batched by exact color/opacity without changing values; at most 2,048 batches and two million path characters are accepted.
